DESCRIPTION

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Fleeceback Waterproofing Membrane is manufactured using a controlled extrusion and calendering process. The membrane consists of a smooth PVC top layer factory-laminated to a non-woven polyester fleece backing, unless otherwise specified, to enhance adhesion, dimensional stability, and resistance to substrate irregularities. The exposed PVC surface is designed for heat-welded seaming, forming a homogeneous, watertight bond at membrane laps and details.

Raw materials
The membrane is factory-laminated to a non-woven polyester fleece backing designed to facilitate full adhesion or mechanical attachment using manufacturer-approved bonding adhesives or fastening systems. The fleece backing improves adhesion to approved substrates, enhances dimensional stability, and increases resistance to puncture and substrate irregularities, while maintaining the flexibility and heat-weldability of the exposed PVC surface.

Excellent Quality
The membrane exhibits excellent overall quality, combining consistent manufacturing, durable formulation, and proven performance characteristics that meet or exceed applicable industry standards. ToppsFlex PVC has excellent age resistance. It also maintains flexibility in-40c temperatures and does not become hard and brittle.

Product Type
Fiber fleece – backed (+ 55 mils) (Category L)
Reinforced with polyester scrim (Category P)

Application Scope
The membrane is suitable for use in new construction and roef restoration applications over approved substrates, including steel, concrete, wood, gypsum, and existing compatible roofing systems, when installed in accordance with manufacturer requirements and project specifications.

APPLICATION

Substrates must be clean, dry, smooth, and free of sharp edges, fins, loose or foreign materials, oil, grease and other materials that may damage the membrane.

All rough surfaces that can damage the membrane shall be repaired as specified to offer a smooth substrate.

All surface voids greater than 1/4” (6.3mm) wide should be properly filled with an acceptable fill material. ToppsFlex TPO waterproofing membrane is installed as a continuous roofing or waterproofing layer on the roof. Rolls are over lapped (side laps and end laps) prior to heat welding the seam areas. Install the ToppsFlex TPO in accordance with current ToppsFlex TPO specifications, details and workmanship requirement

ADVANTAGES

  • Enhanced chemical resistance

  • Can increase a building’s energy efficiency

  • Excellent heat weldability

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes ToppsFlex PVC Fleeceback different from standard PVC roofing membranes?

A: ToppsFlex PVC Fleeceback combines the proven waterproofing and chemical resistance of PVC roofing with a factory-applied fleece backing that enhances puncture resistance, improves substrate adhesion, and helps accommodate irregular roof surfaces. This makes it an excellent solution for both reroofing and new commercial roofing applications.

Q: Why do contractors choose fleece-backed PVC membranes for commercial reroofing projects?

A: Fleece-backed PVC membranes can help simplify roof recover applications by reducing the need for complete tear-offs in certain approved roofing assemblies. The additional fleece layer provides added protection, installation flexibility, and long-term roofing performance for commercial buildings.

Q: What should building owners look for when evaluating PVC roofing membrane manufacturers?

A: When comparing PVC roofing membrane manufacturers, building owners should evaluate membrane durability, chemical resistance, weather performance, warranty coverage, and system compatibility. A complete roofing system designed by experienced roofing system manufacturers can help maximize roof lifespan and overall building value.

Q: Is ToppsFlex PVC Fleeceback suitable for commercial buildings in Dallas, Texas and other demanding climates?

A: Yes. ToppsFlex PVC Fleeceback is engineered to withstand UV exposure, temperature fluctuations, and harsh environmental conditions. Its reflective surface and durable construction make it a strong choice for commercial roofing projects throughout Dallas, Texas and across the United States.

Q: Why do architects and consultants specify single-ply PVC roofing systems?

A: Single-ply PVC roofing systems are widely specified because they offer dependable waterproofing, excellent chemical resistance, heat-welded seam performance, and long-term durability. These advantages make PVC membranes a preferred solution for commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing projects where reliability is critical.
